研究 & 赠款概述
研究 is an integral part of the curriculum at Mercy 大学—and an important part of the teaching and learning experience for undergraduate and graduate students alike.
研究 at Mercy aims to contribute to the community, the economy and scholarly discoveries and creation. Through a range of services and efforts, the 教务长办公室 supports faculty, 工作人员, and students by cultivating scholarship and 研究, encouraging and supporting 研究 in emerging areas, and prompting individual 研究ers and partnerships in order to advance basic and applied knowledge.
研究 & 社区
Much of the 研究 conducted by faculty at Mercy 大学 focuses on community issues and has strong potential for community impact. 通过健康研究, 行为, 组织, 或者教育干预, Mercy faculty are actively engaged in 研究 that tests and demonstrates how to promote effective change that can improve our communities. Working closely with community partners around our region, Mercy faculty also study optimal ways of implementing tested interventions in effective fashion.

The Mercy 大学 研究沙龙 is a series of gatherings conducted every monthly by and for faculty to discuss and advance 研究 ideas, 方法, 资源, and related areas of concern. Discussions range over faculty members' specific 研究 as well as broader issues and challenges. The Salon meetings are open to the university community, and are coordinated by Dr. Saul Fisher, Associate Provost for 研究, 奖助金, and Academic Initiatives (sfisher@twittermademoney.com).

Mercy 大学 Responsible Conduct of 研究 Policy
It is the policy of Mercy 大学 that all faculty, 工作人员, and graduate and undergraduate students involved in scientific and empirical 研究 must complete training in the Responsible Conduct of 研究. Trainees engaged in 研究 at the undergraduate or graduate level will receive instruction in ethical considerations and decision making in RCR that is appropriate for their disciplines and stage of 研究 education and curricula. 教师 and 工作人员 engaged in scientific and empirical 研究 must complete RCR training regardless of funding. It is the responsibility of the faculty 研究er to ensure that all applicable team members are informed of this requirement and that the requirement has been met. Mercy 大学 is committed to broadening participation among students in authentic 研究 in collaboration with faculty. Currently, Mercy students participate in 研究 through a variety of programs, including the 麦克奈尔学者项目 和 大学’s 荣誉项目, as well as in course-based 研究 opportunities. 本科研究, as defined by the Council on 本科研究 (CUR), is "inquiry or investigation conducted by an undergraduate student that makes an original intellectual or creative contribution discipline." As an institutional member of CUR, and in keeping with AAC&U high-impact educational practices, Mercy 大学 is committed to promoting undergraduate 研究 opportunities, as well as graduate student 研究 opportunities, 跨学科.
